Hi Ladies,

As ever thanks for your response to my previous comment. I forget that Canada is different again to the UK when it comes to films. I assume that if something has made it to the UK it has made it everywhere outside the US as there is usually a +2 month delay when it comes to films.

Just saw the trailer to Snow White and the Huntsman.

After recently seeing a few fantasy/fairytale type films and finding them dissapointing I was beginning to think I was too old for that type of thing (I still watch and enjoy the original Sinbad films and Clash of the Titans from the 70s & 80s) but this actually looks as if it mixes the original dark fairytale aspect with a modern element.

I will keep an eye out for it when it gets here sometime in 2012.

American Horror Story:

I heard you mention American Horror Story in your podcast and wanted to say a little of what I think about the show. I have seen several episodes of this and it is in turns interesting, disturbing and has some predictable elements. I can not stand the main male character played by Dylan McDermott as I find him weak and also (more annoyingly) incompetent. I also don't have much sympathy for the wife (played by the lovely Connie Britton) as I don't understand female characters who do not have jobs and who's children are older than 10 (I am thinking of the mother in Modern Family). Vivien does nothing, the only things I see defining her is that she eats healthily and she has had a miscarriage. What does she do all day???? I realise that this is not that important on a show where there is evil, violent death and the supernatural, but it just bugs me.

I hope you like it when you get to see it as it has the supernatural elements that I know you ladies love.

Hi UK Listener! Sorry for the delayed response, life is insane lately.

That's OK, our situation is different and mine is even different from Shannon even though she lives in the same country. Toronto gets a ton of movies but not so much in Nova Scotia.

Interesting perspective on American Horror Story! We also prefer our female characters to be strong, active and out there tackling the supernatural or hanging out with it. Sadly the sexism upset me so much I just could not watch it. They finally made a paranormal show that even I won't watch!
