Ep 39: Paranormal TV from Nov 25 - 28, 2010

With American Thanksgiving last week we were pretty light on the fiction paranormal TV front but we still had a new episode of Lost Girl to chat about! We also catch up with the season finale of Paranormal State and series opener of The Ghost Prophecies. Since there were only a few shows to talk about we take a bite out of a few vampire films including the Australian vampire film Daybreakers starring Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill and Willem Dafoe as well as the Canadian campy vampire rock on road movie Suck. It’s truly amazing how no matter how many or how few shows we to talk about, we always talk for roughly the same time every single week! Next week we’ll be back chatting up new episodes of Lost Girl as well as the return of Vampire Diaries & Supernatural.

Show Notes:
0:00 – 1:10 - Introduction
1:10 – 16:10 - News

Hello Sisters,

Just found your podcast, so excited to find someone who is talking about Lost Girl. What a great show, I love the world they are creating and can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Keep up the good work.

Also, thank you for the heads up about the two movies on Shaw VOD. I sent Daybreakers to my SOD account to watch tonight!

Hey Autust95! Thanks for commenting and we are pretty darn excited about Lost Girl too. I agree, the world they have created is so fresh, original and fascinating. I still want an invite to next year's Fae Day. You are very welcome for the heads up. Shannon writes a post about movies available on VOD which has helped me not miss anything, glad to share and got to get our money's worth for that service.

Hope you enjoyed Daybreakers like we did! Say hi to the Pacific for me.

Hi Ladies,

I hope you read this post before you tape the next episode of your podcast.

TVD S2 Ep10 The Sacrifice
I know that you ladies will notice this and give your Wicken(?) perspective but I have to say that I was really shocked that Bonnie channeled Luka's powers without telling him. Bonnie knew how much power was needed to cast/break that spell. Her disregard for his life was shocking.

Tyler & Caroline
I sometimes forget with how much fun this show is that there are really quite horrific elements. When Caroline admitted that when she first turned into a vampire she was so out of control that she killed a man and that she didn't want Tyler to be alone, that is both a sweet moment but also really quite awful. It seems a weird bonding moment between teenagers/supernatural creatures.

Anyway looking forward to hearing your comments.

Hi Again Ladies,

I forgot to say that the moment at the end when Damon promised Stefan that he would look after Elena was really quite a touching moment. It is amazing to see how far the brothers have come over 2 seasons.

UK Listener, thank you so much for your perspective! We will definitely be talking about these issues in our next podcast which will be up soon. I totally agree, Damon was actually a bit of a sweetheart when he promised to protect Elena. Did not come across as ominous at all!
