Hi,
I have just watched Lost Girl S1 ep13 and that was a great finale! It had an epic feel. It answered a lot of questions and posed some new ones.
So Saskia/Effa(?) was really Bo's mum. I didn't see that coming, I think it was the kiss from the first time that they met in the club that threw me off, but I thought she might know what clan Bo was from. It is rare that you see a woman with a lair (very James Bond villain) and a crazy plan of world domination/anarchy and it was nice to see that at least partly played out here. Can we infer from the final scene that Saskia was not working alone? Was it the Dark fae who tortured her for ages that came for her or is it a new player hoping to use her at some later date or was it Hale?
They really need to explain how old all of these people are and can be as Saskia looked in her early 40s (Hollywood style) but clearly she must be 500+ years old if she was imprisoned for a few hundred years. And the same with Dyson, we know that he is over 70 years old from Trick telling Bo in the previous episode that he spent 50 years in Norway(?).
Did you guess what the witch would ask for in return of helping Dyson? That will set things up interestingly next season. So can they fall inlove again or was the curse so worded that even if they meet & work together they will never fall in love again?
I am glad that Kenzi made it through and that she once again proved what a loyal friend she is even if she is 'only' human. But as per she came though at a crucial moment.
I have to say that sometimes I think this show isn't as good as it could be, either the writing isn't as elegant as it could be or the acting is a bit bad but I think that the season finale was mostly well done. I am left with a lot of questions. What did Trick write in his blood? What was the writing that appeared on Saskia's head? Will Saskia survive whole? How will the Fae world treat Bo now that they know her true lineage? Who is Bo's father? What does this mean for Light & Dark Fae clans??!!
Look forward to listening to your podcast. I don't know what I am going to watch to keep me going till Jan 27th 2011 when TVD comes back.

Sorry for the double post. My computer went a bit mad.

Good questions UK Listener, many of which Shannon and I will be going over today. I think leaving Effa's fate open-ended like that was a bit of a cop-out if you ask me. I hope she is the one in control, she is so strong (and crazy) I would hate to think that someone is pulling her strings. It appears as though many of the Fae are much older than they appear, Trick is supposed to be centuries old. So yes, aging is different for the Fae. I did anticipate Dyson's demise but have no idea what this will mean for the next season. I agree, the show isn't perfect but it is pretty amazing! The lack of TV programming for the next month or so will prove very challenging! Think I'll end up spending more time in the kitchen than in front of the TV, LOL. Thanks for your comments and questions, we will definitely go over them in our next podcast!
