12 Days of SPACE-MAS 2013

.

It's TIME! The snow is start to piling, the tree is twinkling and there are lots of presents to wrap, cookies to bake (and eat) and 12 whole days of awesome programming on Space to celebrate the 12 Days of SPACE-MAS!  From December 21 - January 5, 2014 it's going to be marathon and movie mayhem, in the best possible way.

I'm partial to the Face Off SERIES Marathon. That's right: all 5 seasons of Face Off will be shown from Dec 26 - 29, 2013. That's a lot of make up challenges to enjoy. We also have the Orphan Black marathon which is particularly excellent for anyone who missed it the first time round. Of course there is the annual Christmas with the Doctor including the Doctor Who Christmas Special. Plus lots and lots of movies.

Let's look at the entire schedule.  Fire up your sonic screwdriver and let the butterbeer roll!

Saturday, Dec. 21 – Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013

Paranormal Pick of the Week: Haven and Lost Girl Season 4 Premieres

Showcase is spoiling us silly this week with the premieres of two of our long-term favourite shows coming back for their fourth, fabulous seasons. That's right, both Haven and Lost Girl start back up this week and we can't choose between two of the shows that we've been chatting about since 2010 so they are sharing the spotlight of the Paranormal Pick of the Week:

(L-R) Lucas Bryant, Emily Rose and Eric Balfour in season four of Haven

Haven ~ Season 4 Premiere
Friday November 8, 2013 on Showcase at 9pm ET/PT (revised date)

~and~

Lost Girl ~ Season 4 Premiere
Sunday November 10, 2013 on Showcase at 10pm ET/PT
Plus: Season 4 Pre-Show Special Sunday November 10, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT
And: Lost Girl Webisodes that bridge Season 3 and 4

Both Haven and Lost Girl will have 13 episodes in their 4th season. To see the season descriptions check out Hexed's November Monthly Preview.

Also Awesome:
  • Face Off Season 5 Finale - Tuesday November 5, 2013 at 9pm on Space. I can't believe it is already coming to an end! This seasons twist of Vets vs Newcomers has proved very interesting indeed and the make up artists have created some absolutely stunning works of art. I'm going to be sad when it's over (although Season 6 has been announced). I have no clue who will win, but it's been such a talented group of people this year, I would be happy no matter who it will be.

November 2013 Paranomal TV New and Returning Air Dates

November is hear and as we get closer to the end of the year, we still have tons of awesome shows and specials premiering. This month we have the new science fiction series Almost Human starring Karl Urban and Micheal Ealy as reluctant cop partners in a human and robot filled world. We also have a few specials in store including the big 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who special as well as Face Off's Judges' Favourites Special which looks like so much fun. In the non-fiction realm we have the Haunted Highway return for it's second season. Last but certainly not least, two of our favourite shows are returning for their fourth seasons: Haven and Lost Girl.

For the Spoiler-Sensitive: several of the returning series have *season* descriptions, so read with caution if you don't want to know where the shows are going this year.

We've also had a lot of revisions in dates this month too, as Haven is now starting earlier than initially anticipated but Almost Human will now be airing closer to the end of the month. As always, we'll share if we find out any more date changes but always be sure to check your local listings.

Detective John Kennex (Karl Urban, The Bourne Supremacy) survived a catastrophic attack on the city's police department that cost him his friends, one of his limbs and his reputation. When he returns a year later, he finds the transition difficult. Not only does one of the surviving detectives, Richard Paul (Michael Irby, Flight Plan) blame him for the lethal ambush, but department policy now requires that every cop be paired with a highly-evolved human-like android partner. Instead, Kennex works with lab technician Rudy Lom (MacKenzie Crook, Game of Thrones) to reinstate an outdated Dorian android (Michael Ealy, The Good Wife) whose somewhat dysfunctional platform is based on a "Synthetic Soul" program, allowing it to have emotional responses. Together, the two set out to keep the city safe and uncover the criminal conspiracy that threatens to destroy their world."

Ep 144: Paranormal TV October 22 - 28, 2013

Suzie and Shannon are back this week and we are thrilled to share our thoughts on awesome episodes of Supernatural, The Walking Dead, Ghost Mine, Face Off, Fangasm and of course the return of Grimm! We also do a few general discussions a few shows that we might only touch base on here and there like Atlantis and The Tomorrow People, and we of course chat Vampire Diaries and The Witches of East End. Suzie also chimes in on her thoughts on the series premieres of both Ravenswood and Dracula. Busy week!

We'll be back next week to chat our regs, including the Fangasm finale and me might just chat about Reign. Who would have thunk it.

We have a new poll up about if you like the time coding function for the podcast, please vote if you do (or don't).  See to the right hand side on the page to vote.  Thanks!

Ep 143: Paranormal TV Oct 8 - 21, 2013

We are back! There are so many shows to enjoy we've decided to do a bit of a quick-per-series check in. We did decide to talk in depth on Ghost Mine which we are loving, and we also talk a lot about Face Off and Supernatural plus a special shout out to The Neighbors holiday episode. With Shannon still settling from the move and tons of spooky season stuff going on it's hard to pack it all in, but we do check in on series premieres of Alien Mysteries, The Tomorrow People, Atlantis and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and although we haven't both necessarily seen all the eps, we do share if we've liked what we've seen or are planning on watching it. Of course we check in on our other regs of Vampire Diaries, Sleepy Hollow, Fangasm and more. We hope this gets you up to speed and then next episode will be a bit more normal. Although we always run long, don't we?

Of course we will be back next week to share thoughts on the Season 3 premiere of Grimm, and the series premieres of Dracula and Ravenswood as well as checking in on our regs. The ratings system didn't quite work it's way into this week but we may try it again. We were also thrilled with how many of your voted in our October poll, that's so much for sharing what you will be watching this spooky season.

Ep 142 Paranormal TV Oct 1 - 7, 2013

  • This week on Hexed Suzie and Shannon tackle the series premieres of The Witches of East End and The Originals; and it gets pretty crazy as we both aren't continuing to watch both of them! We also check in on the Season 5 premiere of Vampire Diaries, check in on Sleepy Hollow, Ghost Mine, Face Off, Paranormal Witness, Fangasm and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

  • With there being so many shows (and more coming down the pipe!) it's challenging to get everything in. But we do, for now!

  • Next Week we take a week off for Shannon's move or we might be back with a quick episode. Either way, the next time we'll chat the Season 9 premiere of Supernatural, Season 4 of The Walking Dead, check in on our new regs. We also may implement a rating system to decide which of the oodles of shows to chat about.
