Hal-Con 2012 Charity Auction Hosted by Live 105
Reg/Khan and I did not go to the Live Auction last year, mostly because I typically try not to spend a ton of money and I did not really "get it". Not until I sat in the audience this year and realized, OMG, this is so much fun and so dangerous. One of a kind handmade cool geeky items for sale and the money goes to charity?!
I hope you enjoy the video I did of all the stuff we did not win and then finally, we snagged a couple of treasures!
It started off on the right foot when we realized it was being hosted by Live 105 Morning Show Hosts Jeff & Floyd, local rebellious radio hosts known for their outrageous behaviour. This was going to be fun.
I also soon realized we are prone to auction fever and as soon as Ajay revealed that he had Skywalker Ranch Hot Sauce up for auction, I knew I was in serious trouble. Geek food?! I did bid but I stayed strong. I refused to go over $60!
There were a lot of sci-fi models up for auction and most of them went for around $100.
Even though I am not a South Park fan, even I loved this quilt of Kenny which went for around $100.
We bid on a ton of items but it wasn't until I won these Steampunk Spats for $25 that our luck changed.
Then Reg won these Serenity Sake shot glasses for $75 so together we spent $100 on charity which we like to do once a year anyway.
It was seriously one of the coolest and most entertaining events of the entire weekend. I will never miss one again.
