Sometimes it's just not fair to pick favourites, that's why this weeks Paranormal Pick to the week is a double dose (and double bill) of awesome premieres on Space this Monday July 23, 2012:

The Almighty Johnsons
Series Premiere - Monday July 23, 2012 on 9PM ET on Space

Alphas Season 2 Premiere
Monday July 23, 2012 at 10PM ET on Space

Suzie & I really enjoyed Season 1 of Alphas last summer and chatted about each and every episode (see archive here) and have been excited for months that we are getting Season 2 and now it's finally here! This series featuring humans with enhanced abilities that when found are given the opportunity to works for an organization or be sent to 'the compound'; and it's all kept under wraps from the general public.

The Almighty Johnsons is a New Zealand series following brothers that have powers of Norse Gods. I a little leery that it might be slanted strongly to male audience, but it looks like it could be a lot of fun and now it's not long until we can decide for ourselves! We only recently confirmed that it's air dates here in Canada and now the time has finally come to check it out.

The Almighty Johnsons: 5 Boys (L-R) Anders (Dean O'Gorman), Mike (Tim Balme), Axl (Emmett Skilton), Ty (Jared Turner) and Olaf (Ben Barrington)

Also Awesome This Week:
  • Doctor Who Catch-Up Marathon Continues with Season 4 on Sunday July 29, 2012 from 6AM to 7PM on Space; check out "The Time Lord (David Tennant) reunites with human companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate), to travel back to Pompeii on the eve of the infamous volcanic eruption. He also investigates a series of grisly murders with the help of Agatha Christie, journeys to the home world of the sinister Ood, and comes face-to-face with an old enemy."

Ep 109: Continuum Video Excerpt

This week we have a video clip from Episode #109 of our podcast! And it is all about Continuum. To listen to the entire podcast, click here.

I love that it starts with us dancing! And the timing of the ending was a complete fluke but quite funny. Enjoy!

Ep 109: Paranormal TV July 10 - 16, 2012

Summer TV fun continues to impress as Suzie & Shannon continue to enjoy our regular shows of Teen Wolf & Continuum and the finale of Fact or Faked. We also dive into premieres +1 for several shows including the new adventure show Sinbad, and non-fiction shows School Spirits (which we LOVE) and Haunted Highwauy. There is so much to watch that except for this crazy heat we'd never even know it's summer!

We sound a little different this week as Shannon's using a new computer (YAY) but a little quite (not so yay) and we also while we are chatting too so that's a lot of tech awesome (which we made it through - go us!). There is an odd occasional electronic purr-like sound that's a bit of a mystery & I'll try and solve that soon!

The Almighty Johnsons Premieres on Space on July 23, 2012

The Almighty Johnsons: 5 Boys (L-R) Anders (Dean O'Gorman), Mike (Tim Balme), Axl (Emmett Skilton), Ty (Jared Turner) and Olaf (Ben Barrington)

I'm excited to share we finally have a confirmed date & time for The Almighty Johnsons which will air on Space starting Monday July 23, 2012 at 9PM ET. I'm so curious about this New Zealand series with brothers that have powers of Norse Gods. I have to admit being a tiny bit worried from the trailer that it might slanted to anticipating having a mostly male audience, but I really hope it isn't because I want to love it. And it's starts on my birthday *and* the first episode is birthday-related, woohoo1

The Almighty Johnsons - Series Premiere
Monday, July 23 at 9 p.m. ET on Space
Season 1, Episode 1: “It’s Kind of a Birthday Present”

With The Almighty Johnsons being on Mondays at 9 and then followed by Alphas (also restarted July 23, 2012 with Season 2), it means monday nights are totally super powered & awesome. Here is more about the show and the series:

Episode Description "It is Axl Johnson’s 21st birthday – which explains the fire in the sky, the Waitemata Harbour being the colour of blood, the various women who seem to want to kill him and the sudden need for a family ceremony in a forest."

Series Description: "The Johnsons are four ordinary Kiwi brothers who have inherited the powers of Norse Gods. But Norse Gods lived a long time ago, and over many generations, their powers have become diluted. So the Johnsons aren’t like those flashy cartoon superheroes, they are typical Kiwi blokes who don’t much like to stand out from the crowd. This is New Zealand after all, and if Godzone really had gods, and they walked among us, let’s face it… you probably wouldn’t even notice.

These everyday gods also have everyday struggles - striving to love stroppy women, overcoming sibling rivalry and fulfilling your God-like destiny, all while still finding the time to enjoy a few beers with your mates."

Paranormal Pick of the Week: Fact or Faked Season Finale

Image: Season 2C Fact or Faked Cast (from l-r) Devin Marble, Lanisha Cole, Bill Murphy, Ben Hansen, Jael De Pardo, Austin Porter

This has been one heck of an enjoyable season of Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files (I can't wait to talk to Suzie about the most recent eps!!!), and this amazing season comes to a close this week on Wednesday July 11, 2012 which makes it our Paranormal Pick of the Week:

Fact or Fact Paranormal Files Season Finale *
Wednesday July 11, 2012 at 10pm EST on Space

It's going to sad to see the season come to a close but they have entertained us with each and every episode and also expanded the audiences minds as well as take their own. A lot of compelling paranormal evidence has been captured and quite a few fakes have been found as well. I never know what they will come up and can't wait to see what the big finale will be. Suzie and I have talked about each and every episode since Fact or Faked began, so I can't wait for it's return on Wednesday!

Also Awesome this week:
  • Doctor Who Catch-Up Marathon on Space continues this week with Season 2. On Sunday July 15, 2012 hang out to enjoy Season 2 with "The Time Lord (David Tennant), and his companion Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), continue on their adventures though time and space where they encounter a variety of new characters including Queen Victoria, an evil race of Cat Women, K9, Sarah Jane, and the dreaded Cybermen." The Doctor Who Sunday marathons will continue Sunday after Sunday all through July 2012, see more information on them here.

*Please note that in the US (on SyFy) this set of episodes is called Season 3 and here in Canada it's being called Season 2C. The US schedule is slightly ahead of us, but either way you phrase it the series has been totally exciting!
